2005
  • Joint project “TT Cluster: Technology Transfer in Business Groups – Opportunities and Challenges for the Growth of Innovative Enterprises from Technology Centres in Saxony”
  • The Cuban Science Minister holds talks with businesses at the TCC

 
2006
  • 'MTex' trade fair at the TCC
  • EU joint project “'STIM-SME: Development of Economic Strategies by Innovative Clusters and Technologies – Stimulation and Facilitation of New Business Creation from SMEs”
2007
  • Minister-president of Saxony Georg Milbradt visits the TCC
  • 3D-Micromac AG win the Saxon Innovation Award

2008
  • The foundation stone is laid for the start-up building, the third local start-up centre, on the Smart Systems Campus, the outstanding “Site in the Land of Ideas”
  • An economic delegation from St. Louis (USA) visit the TCC
  • Teacher training at the TCC in conjunction with regional businesses and the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems (ENAS)

2009
  • After one full year of construction, the start-up building for the TechnoPark Chemnitz GmbH is opened on the Smart Systems Campus. The building is the third site for the local promotion and support of business start-ups. Over 2,500 m² of office and laboratory space is reserved for companies from the microtechnology and nanotechnology sectors. The site is located in close proximity to the university and two Fraunhofer institutes – a clear indication for a cluster formation.
  • The TCC certificate as a “Recognised Centre of Innovation by the German Association of Innovation (ADT)” is renewed
  • The Saxon innovation prize is awarded to Metrom GmbH

2010
  • The target of “1,500 new jobs created by TCC firms” is exceeded
  • 9th December: Ceremony for the 20th anniversary of the TCC
