2000
The TCC celebrates its 10th birthday in October with a colloquium “Technology Centres and Technology-Oriented Business Start-Ups – Experiences and New Targets”. In the space of ten years, 84 companies have moved into the TCC, creating 485 jobs. Since then, 28 businesses have been set up in the business parks of the city and the region.

2001
  • TCC is partner in the first business founder competition run by the Chemnitz Business and Development Company (CWE)
  • The “Meeting in the Tower” is launched – students visit technology companies
  • EU joint project “Bench: Benchmarking Management of European Business Incubators”
 
In 2002 the TCC undergoes its first audit as a “Recognised Centre of Innovation”.

2002
The consultation and service areas of the technology centres, which foster the start-up and growth of technology-oriented firms, have to deal with high demands. The German Association of Innovation, Technology and Business Incubation Centres (ADT) has developed a test and auditing procedure that acknowledges centres with exceptional quality features. In March, the TCC is awarded the title “Recognised Centre of Innovation by the German Association of Innovation (ADT)”. In September 2009 the repeat audit is granted for another five years.
  • Founding of the Chemnitz business start-up advice network with the German Chamber of Skilled Trades, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Saxeed Centre for Entrepreneurship, the German Employment Agency and Sparkasse Bank
  • Framework agreement by the Association of Saxon Innovation Centres (AGTZ-S) with the Ministry of Education and the Arts in Saxony on a partnership with secondary schools
  • Participation in the first “Open Door Business Week”
  • The Aachen Chamber of Commerce pulls out as a shareholder of the TCC GmbH

2003
  • IT company chemmedia AG becomes the 100th business in the TCC
  • Opening of the “Pre-Incubator Centre” in conjunction with the Chemnitz University of Technology (Saxeed)
  • Partnership agreements with Agricola and Kepler secondary schools
  • An economic delegation from the Czech Republic pay a visit
  • The shareholder Aachen Regional Development Agency (AGIT) leaves TCC GmbH

2004
  • Joint project “ASTRA: Implementation of new technologies in the three-dimensional processing of materials”
  • Metrom GmbH wins the SME prize, awarded by the Volksbank and Raiffeisenbank
